The Holt County Treasurer’s Office operates in accordance with the statutes of the State of Missouri.
The Treasurer is responsible for receipting all County revenues, making bank deposits, investing County monies, balancing County bank accounts, banking funds held in trust by the County, and tracking all county funds.
The Treasurer’s Office is also responsible for writing warrant checks for the Levee and Special Road Districts and helping people claim unclaimed property. Office duties include:
Manage County Checking Account
Disburse and reconcile all county checks
Reconcile all funds and entire checking account on a daily basis.
Receipt all money received by county
Invest monies not needed for day-to-day operations of the county for the School and Cemeteries
Inform Commissioners of the county’s financial status on a regular basis
Custodian of all county money
Primary task is careful accounting of revenues and expenditures and allocation of each fund
Bank deposits
Distributes monies to school funds
Provide daily/monthly records & balance for each individual fund
Distributes monthly tax revenue to local entities
Balance all county’s bank account held with the county treasurer
Semi and Annually Financial Statements
Maintain record and reports on special funding from the governemnt
